This project included a 440 m² (4,700 sqft) visitor centre with an attached 185 m² elliptical exhibit room. The exposed timber and glulam structural system along with the lofty open areas of the visitor centre creates a very warm and welcoming atmosphere.  The elliptical exhibition area posed construction challenges, but a very rewarding final product.

The project is located close to a major connector route and its unique appearance has made it a local landmark.

This project won Judges Choice, at the 2012 Vancouver Island Real Estate Board’s (VIREB) Commercial Building Awards as well as the 2014 Community Recognition Award from the Association of Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities.
