Kinetic performed work for an addition and remodel to Blue Grouse Winery, one of the first bonded wineries on Vancouver Island, outside Duncan, BC. The project added one level and a mezzanine (6,228 sq ft) to the existing winery. To do so, Kinetic salvaged a portion of the working winery by building around it on three sides to expand wine-making capacity and add a hospitality component. This scope included a commercial kitchen, tasting room, retail shop, offices, and toilet rooms. In addition, there was a great deal of site work to establish a new entry drive, parking, stormwater and irrigation pond and new electrical service as well as a new process and domestic waste systems.
This project was named “Judges’ Choice – Best Overall Entry” at the 9th Annual Vancouver Island Real Estate Board’s Commercial Building Awards ceremony and won the “Award of Excellence” in the Hospitality category.
