The Meadowlane Independent Living project has been designed to provide 48 units plus two staff suites, adjacent to an existing medical clinic. The design, location and services incorporated into the building complex will promote it as a community hub. There is a specific area designated to host the Salt Spring Seniors Services Society. A commercial kitchen, administrative offices, library, media and fitness rooms, and other amenities will be located on the main floor while a commercial laundry and service areas will be built into the partial basement of the facility. Three-storeys high, the residential units are designed and will be equipped to accommodate residents with mobility challenges and provide comfortable and aesthetically pleasing spaces. Decks in the individual units and the communal spaces will provide access to the outdoors for the enjoyment of the residents.
